Happy Sweet 16 Story in NCAA Tournament

Last night is the happiest sweet 16 for some young player in NCAA Tournament. This news was quoted from ESPN today (03/21/2011). The following sweet 16 in NCAA.

Men's sweet 16 college basketball:

Butler's stunning NCAA tournament upsets are alive and well again this season, as the eighth-seeded Bulldogs shocked No. 1 seed Pitt 71-70 on Saturday. The Panthers became the first top seed to choke in this year's Big Dance. The first No. 2 seed to make an early exit from this year's tournament was Notre Dame, which lost to 10th-seeded Florida State 71-57 Sunday night. Notre Dame is now 0-8 all-time against the ACC in the NCAA tournament.

The Cinderella story of the tournament is 11th-seeded VCU. The Rams, who had to win a play-in game to even make it into this year's Big Dance, shellacked Purdue, a No. 3 seed, 94-76 Sunday to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time. VCU is the only CAA team still alive in the tournament. Also advancing to the Sweet 16 in an upset was No. 11 seed Marquette, which topped No. 3 seed Syracuse 66-62 Sunday night. The Golden Eagles became the fourth double-digit seed to advance to this year's Sweet 16. Three of those four teams are from the Southwest region.

No. 5 seed Arizona upset fourth-seeded Texas on Sunday by one point, 70-69, to advance to the field of 16. Earlier on Sunday, the top-seeded Duke Blue Devils narrowly escaped eighth-seeded Michigan 73-71. In the Wolverines' victory over No. 9 seed Tennessee on Friday, Michigan became the first team in history to win an NCAA tournament game without making a free throw.

The following teams also punched their tickets to the Sweet 16: No. 1 seeds Kansas and Ohio State, No. 2 seeds UNC, Florida and San Diego State, No. 3 seeds UConn and BYU, No. 4 seeds Wisconsin and Kentucky, and No. 12 seed Richmond.

Two No. 10 seeds upset seventh-seeded teams on Saturday. In the Philadelphia region, Marist defeated Iowa State 74-64. In the Dayton region, Temple topped Arizona State 63-45.

No. 11 seed Middle Tennessee State, which lost teammate Tina Stewart March 2 in a fatal stabbing incident, fell to sixth-seeded Georgia 56-41 on Sunday.

NBA sweet 16:

New York lost its fifth game in the last six tries, falling 100-95 to Milwaukee on Sunday. ... The Lakers' Andrew Bynum was suspended two games without pay Sunday for a flagrant foul 2 he committed against Michael Beasley in Friday's 106-98 Lakers' victory.
